OUR COTTAGES

Details of the facilities available with each of our cottages are included below. For further information see our Booking Rates. All of our properties are non-smoking although Moorfield Lodge and The Old Billiard Room have covered space outside that may be used as a smoking area.

MOORFIELD LODGE
is a self-catering holiday cottage dating back to 1861 standing in 5 acres of the beautiful park-like grounds of Moorfield House. Centrally heated throughout, there is a comfortable lounge with a suite, colour digital TV/DVD player and CD/cassette/radio. There is a dining room with a table and chairs as well as a fully fitted kitchen/breakfast room with gas hob, electric oven, washer/drier, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave and all the usual kitchen equipment. Upstairs there is a recently refurbished modern bathroom with WC, basin and large corner bath/shower, one double bedroom and one twin bedroom. The dining room also doubles as a twin-bedded room if required. There is ample parking space. In addition, residents are welcome to use the extensive grounds in which the Lodge is set. All water, gas, electricity, linen and towels are included in the rental price.

THE OLD BILLIARD ROOM
is an attractive open-plan holiday apartment. It was originally the billiard hall of Moorfield House and retains many original and remarkable architectural features such as carved beams and supports, wood panelling and an etched glass ceiling. The main area is divided into an extensive lounge with suite, colour digital TV/DVD player and CD/cassette/radio and a dining area with table and 6 chairs. The double bed is located on a mezzanine floor overlooking the living area. Beneath the bedroom area is the bathroom with bath/shower, basin and WC and the modern kitchen with washer/drier, dishwasher, electric cooker, fridge, microwave and all the usual kitchen equipment. There is gas central heating throughout and the rental price includes water, electricity, gas, linen and towels. There is a separate patio area with table and chairs as well as a parking space. Although ideal for 2 people, the large size of the lounge area makes it possible for an additional bed to be set up there (£10 additional charge). The Billiard Room is, however, open plan and the bedroom on the mezzanine floor overlooks the lounge. There are magnificent views across the large landscaped gardens that the residents are welcome to use.

THE GARDEN FLAT
is a conversion of adjoining outbuildings at the rear of Moorfield Lodge. It is centrally heated throughout and affords magnificent views across fields to the nearby Pennine hills. The main living space comprises a lounge area with a sofa, easy chair, table and 4 chairs, digital TV/DVD player, radio/CD/cassette player and a modern kitchen with microwave/oven, washer/drier, dishwasher, fridge and all the usual kitchen equipment and utensils. The bedroom has a double bed and wardrobe. The tiled en-suite bathroom has a WC, basin and shower. There is a private patio and car parking space. The rental price includes water, gas, electricity, linen and towels. The Garden Flat is a cosy base for an individual or a couple. The absence of stairs, and the incorporation of other features, make it suitable for people with mobility impairment such as those with restricted walking.
